Single Order Broadband (SOGEA) stands for Single Order Generic Ethernet Access.
SOGEA is a product launched by Openreach, it is a product developed for the future of internet connectivity. Until recently, to deliver broadband to home and office premises, you needed to have a conventional phone line installed. SOGEA does away with this as it uses the broadband element without a phone line. SOGEA broadband offers speeds of up to 76Mb/Sec and can be combined with a Hosted VoIP service, to provide phone and broadband to your premises, allowing you to transfer your old phone number and business broadband service into one connection.

SOGEA is a cost-effective solution that delivers the same performance as FTTC (Fibre to the Cabinet). Like traditional broadband, SOGEA is still delivered into your home or office using a copper line, however, this new SOGEA Line is a “data only” service and is ordered as a single product, i.e. no separate line rental. Most towns and cities have Fibre to the Cabinet now, so SOGEA is readily available and with fast lead times, you can be up and running quickly.
